I am a Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist with 28 years of experience in acute care, long‑term care, and outpatient settings. Originally from India and now based in Birmingham, Alabama for nearly four decades, I bring a multicultural lens and a holistic philosophy to my work. I believe strongly in empathy, client engagement, and empowerment as the foundation for effective nutrition care. My primary passion is diabetes prevention and management. I have extensive experience as a consultant and trainer for Medtronic, supporting clients in understanding insulin pump and CGM technologies. I value a flexible, client‑centered approach and appreciate environments that encourage collaboration, shared learning, and evidence‑based practice. At this stage in my career, I am focused on maintaining a small, intentional practice where I can continue learning, sharing my expertise, and supporting clients in meaningful ways. Outside of my professional work, I enjoy spending time with my family—especially my grandchildren—and teaching Indian Classical Dance through my home‑based school of 25 years. This art form keeps me connected to culture, science, and spirituality and enriches my approach to life and practice.
