But can you really increase your nutrient intake by taking these gummy bears every day?
As a registered dietitian, I'm always curious to try the next viral product and determine whether it's worth recommending to my clients. I only recommend the best of the best, so I thoroughly researched and sampled Grüns Gummies to see if they live up to the hype.
I examined the ingredients, purported health benefits, cost, and taste, among other details— and ultimately, I think you can skip the candy bears in favor of other greens products.
Grüns Key Features
- What are Grüns Gummies? Grüns gummies are gummy supplements with 60 ingredients, including vegetables, fruits, super mushrooms, prebiotics, and adaptogens.
- How should you use Grüns Gummies? The daily recommended serving size is one snack pack, which contains eight gummies.
- Are there better alternatives to Grüns? When it comes to green supplements, I prefer nutrient-dense greens powders like Live it Up Super Greens and Zena Greens.
- How much does Grüns cost? A one-time purchase of a 28-day supply of the low-sugar Grüns gummies costs $79.99 or $59.99 with a subscription. The sugar-free option is slightly more expensive: $87.99 for a one-time purchase or $65 with a subscription.
- What are the alleged health benefits of Grüns? Grüns Superfoods Greens Gummies claim to support gut health, energy levels, immune function, recovery, beauty, and cognition.
- What does Grüns taste like? Many customers describe the taste of Grüns Gummies as sweet with a prominent green flavor, similar to fruit snacks but earthy
- Is Grüns safe for everyone? These gummies are generally considered safe, but it's best to avoid them if you are breastfeeding or pregnant. Also, consuming gummies could negatively impact your dental health due to added sugars in the gel.

My Overall Thoughts on Grüns Gummies

Let's face it; a lot of us have difficulty consuming our daily recommended amount of greens. While I appreciate that Grüns gummies offer a convenient way to consume more vegetables and essential vitamins and minerals, I am wary of whether these gummies actually contribute to your overall health.
When it comes to the nutritional value and health benefits, I'm concerned about the following:
- High sugar content and gels may cause cavities
- Nutritional potency of gummies is unreliable
- Lack of digestive enzymes and probiotics for effective gut health support
- Lab-made synthetic vitamins and minerals, which aren’t as bioavailable as natural nutrients
- Nutrients that may degrade faster in gummy form than in powder form
Grüns Ingredients Analysis
There are a whopping 60 ingredients in Grüns, which include a core nutrients blend, as well as synthetic vitamins and minerals. Let's look behind the label of Grüns Daily Gummies to learn more about their nutritional content.

Greens and Adaptogens
The gummies' core nutrients blend includes organic greens, such as:
- Leafy greens like organic kale and spinach
- Cruciferous vegetables like broccoli and cabbage
- Algae like spirulina and chlorella
- Cereal grasses like organic wheatgrass and barley grass
The blend also includes one super mushroom (shiitake) and one adaptogen (astragalus), to support cognition and mood.
It's not uncommon for brands to contain proprietary blends to protect their formulas, but this does make it difficult to assess their dosing. I’d say since all of the greens and adaptogens are toward the top of the ingredient list (and they’re listed in order of greatest quantity), it’s more likely they’re in high enough amounts to contribute to your overall health.
Fruits
The core nutrients blend also contains organic whole fruits, such as berries, acai, lemon, and apple. Many of these fruits, including blueberries, raspberries, pomegranates, and goji berries, are rich in antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties.
However, because the fruits fall toward the bottom of the ingredient list, they’re included in much smaller doses than some of the top greens and possibly ineffective.
Fiber
The blend also includes 6g of total fiber and two kinds of prebiotic fibers:
- Tapioca fiber is a soluble plant-based fiber derived from the cassava root.
- Inulin is a soluble dietary fiber derived from a variety of plants, including chicory root, Jerusalem artichokes, and garlic.
Both of these fibers are considered prebiotics, meaning they act as a source of food for probiotics. They help stimulate the healthy gut bacteria, which aid digestion. Because tapioca and inulin are the first two ingredients on the list, they’re the largest quantities in the whole formula instead of greens, and this high fiber content may cause digestive upset for some people.
Nutrition Fact: Sometimes, overly stuffed supplements can contain too many ingredients to be effective. When a product has a proprietary blend, you won't know how many of each of the ingredients are in each serving.
Vitamins and Minerals
Grüns Gummies contain lab-created synthetic vitamins and minerals. There's nothing inherently wrong with that, but I prefer to see vitamins and minerals naturally derived from whole foods, as we see with brands like Live it Up Super Greens.
I also noticed that the gummies contain significant amounts of micronutrients. For instance, there is 103% DV of vitamin C and 100% DV of vitamins A, D, E, B2, B12, folate, and biotin. While it's great to get your daily recommended amount of vitamins and minerals in one supplement, consuming too many could cause adverse health effects.
Additionally, it's essential to address the nutrient-stability issues often associated with gummy supplements. Because they are exposed to heat, moisture, changes in pH, oxygen, and light during the manufacturing process, the nutrients in gummies can degrade more quickly than other supplement forms, like powder.
Sugars
Sugar and sweeteners raise a bit of a concern for me with these gummies. After all, these gummy bears are designed to taste great, especially compared to other supplements. The Grüns gummies are available in two options: low-sugar and sugar-free.
The low-sugar option includes 8 g of sugar derived from cane sugar, which is equivalent to roughly 1.5 teaspoons of sugar! Meanwhile, the sugar-free option has no sugar but includes onosweet and allulose, which are natural sweeteners. Onosweet is derived from sugarcane, and allulose comes from corn or fructose.
Because of the gel in the gummies, these sweeteners can stick to your teeth, increasing your risk of cavities and other dental issues.
Grüns Health Claims
I know there's no substitute for eating a healthy diet, but adding supplements to your daily routine can sometimes help fill nutrition gaps and enhance your overall well-being. Grüns claims to help with everything from immunity and skin health to digestion and stress relief, which is why I conducted a thorough review of its purported benefits.

Immune Health
These gummy bears contain many of the essential nutrients associated with immune support, including vitamin D, C, and E, as well as zinc. They possess antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that help protect the immune system, reducing oxidative stress and stimulating antibody production.
However, it’s worth repeating that these gummies are produced at high temperatures, which can compromise the availability and stability of the vitamins and minerals in the final product. While the supplements may have once contained those immune system-supporting micronutrients, we can't know for sure what's left in the gummies by the time they hit the shelves.
Gut Support
The brand also claims these gummies provide gut support. I applaud them for including organic inulin and tapioca fiber, which are both prebiotics—a type of dietary fiber. Prebiotics play a crucial role in digestive health, as they stimulate the growth of probiotics, which help restore balance in the gut microbiome. When the probiotics consume the prebiotics during the fermentation process, they produce short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs).
That said, these gummy bears lack probiotics and digestive enzymes, both of which are essential for supporting gut health. Probiotics help diversify the gut environment with healthy bacteria, while digestive enzymes help break down food, support nutrient absorption, and aid digestion.
The prebiotics may support gut health on their own. Still, without the addition of probiotics and digestive enzymes like you see in many greens powders, I wonder about the overall effectiveness of these gummies in supporting gut health.
Nutrition Fact: Inulin is a type of FODMAP. (Fermentable Oligosaccharides, Disaccharides, Monosaccharides, and Polyols). If you're following a low-FODMAP diet, you may want to avoid inulin as it could cause bloating, gas, or stomach pain.
Energy and Body
When assessing supplements that support energy levels, digestive enzymes are one of the first ingredients I look for in the supplement facts. After all, digestive enzymes are responsible for breaking down food and converting it into energy.
While these gummies don't contain digestive enzymes, they do have high levels of vitamins and minerals that support energy production, including B vitamins, zinc, and iron. However, we must remember that these gummies are susceptible to degradation, so they may not be as potent as they were at the time of production.
Brain Health
These gummies also claim to support brain health, so I was pleased to see some of the best superfoods for the brain in the formula, such as blueberries and broccoli. Some studies report that B vitamins, vitamin C, zinc, magnesium, and iron may help support cognition. The good news is that I see these essential vitamins and minerals (except for magnesium) listed in the gummy's supplement facts.
That said, I would like to reiterate that these are synthetic vitamins and minerals, and some experts believe that the body may not absorb them as easily as those derived from whole foods. Therefore, if your body cannot fully absorb them, they may not be doing all that much in terms of helping your brain health.
Grüns Price and Discounts
Grüns gummies are quite a bit pricier than other greens supplements on the market. It's important to note that the sugar-free option is slightly more expensive than the low-sugar option. Additionally, the snack packs are only available in 28-day supplies—less than a whole month's worth.
The pricing is as follows:
- One-time purchase of a 28-day supply of the low-sugar option: $79.99 ($2.85 per serving)
- Subscription fee for a 28-day supply of the low-sugar option: $59.99
- One-time purchase of a 28-day supply of the sugar-free option: $87.99
- Subscription fee for a 28-day supply of the sugar-free option: $65
- 30-day money-back guarantee
- Average two-day delivery
For me, I find that these green gummies are too expensive, especially when there are arguably better supplements available with much lower price tags. For example, here’s the cost of other greens powder brands with subscriptions:
- Live it Up Super Greens - $1.33 per serving
- AG1 - $2.64 per serving
- Bloom Greens & Superfoods - $1.04 per serving
Customer Testimonials
As a registered dietitian, I certainly have my thoughts and opinions when it comes to certain greens supplements. Still, I understand that everyone has their own unique experiences and health goals, so I took a closer look at verified Grüns reviews to learn more about what real customers are saying about these gummies.
Grüns Taste and Texture
Taste and texture can make or break a product. I found the gummies to be a bit too sweet for my liking, and I did notice that the gummies were often clumped together in one big mass rather than individual gummy forms.
Regarding Grüns’ reviews, customers expressed a wide range of opinions about the taste and texture of these gummies. Let's start with the positive:
"Great flavor and texture, doesn’t feel or taste like you’re eating something that’s good for you! It’s like a treat, and it helps your health. An easy way to ensure your body is getting what it needs, and a great snack!" --Brittany Keyser
"I’ve recently added these Grüns gummies to my daily routine, and let me tell you they’re a total game changer! Unlike other greens supplements that can smell and taste, well… earthy (in not the best way), these gummies are refreshingly delicious and smell great too." --Kelsey George
That said, not everyone was as complimentary, as some gave negative reviews:
"The texture is sugary, gritty, and so sickeningly sweet they are inedible." --Amiller
"I was so disappointed when I tried them. First off, they aren't gummy really. They are squishy and gritty. Not at all like a candy. And the taste is not my cup of tea. To be frank, I find them disgusting." --Tabatha
"When I received them, they were all stuck together in a big clump. I managed to pull them apart BUT they still seemed to be a little dried out." --Charlie
Grüns Reported Results
Just as there were differing opinions on the taste and texture of these gummies, customers reported mixed results after taking Grüns regularly. Some customers raved about the product, stating that the gummies helped alleviate their digestive issues and create a noticeable improvement in their energy levels:
"I have been taking these gummies for a few weeks. 100% helps my GI system, whereas regular vitamins leave me, to be frank, constipated. These do not have any adverse issues with my body. Have noticed a bit of an uptick in energy levels." --Beth B.
"These have helped me feel more aware, more awake, more alert. I went a few weeks without and felt so groggy! I had to buy them again." --Jamie
However, others were disappointed that they didn't notice any difference in their health and wellness, while others reported that the gummies actually exacerbated their digestive issues:
"After 3 weeks, no change in energy, no change in digestion or regularity. Yes, I agree they taste great, but I cannot justify the cost of a great-tasting candy that does nothing for me." --Susan Butler
"I wanted to love them, but they caused me severe stomach pain and numerous other digestive issues. I will spare you the details." --Lisa
"I didn't notice any real difference in my energy or how I generally felt after several weeks of taking the Gruns." --Colorado84
Weighing In: Are Grüns Gummies Worth It?
Grüns Daily Gummies may be a viable choice for those looking for a fun and convenient way to boost their nutrition intake. These gummies also provide an easy alternative to swallowing pills or mixing greens powders every day.
Although Grüns Gummies include a diverse blend of superfoods and an impressive number of micronutrients, I do have concerns over their nutrient stability and availability due to the way gummies are manufactured. This seems reflected in some customer reviews about a lack of results. Grüns is also completely missing probiotics and enzymes for digestive support.
That's why I'm more inclined to recommend greens powders to my clients because they don't go through that heating process, so they may maintain a more reliable nutrient content and offer a more nutrient-dense product (without any damage to your dental health).
When selecting the right supplements for you, consider your health goals and concerns, and choose a supplement that best aligns with your needs. Also, remember, regardless of whether you decide to go the green gummies or green powder route, these products are designed to supplement (not replace!) a healthy diet.
Frequently Asked Questions About Grüns
Please review the answers to some FAQs about gummies, Grüns, and green supplements below.
What are Grüns side effects?
Some people experience mild digestive issues, such as bloating, cramping, gas, and diarrhea after consuming these gummies. Allergic reactions are also possible, but rare. If you notice any adverse side effects after consuming these gummies, discontinue use and consult a healthcare professional for guidance.
Is Grüns a reputable company?
Yes, Grüns is considered a reputable company. They produce all of their products in GMP- and NSF-certified facilities and employ third-party testing to ensure quality, safety, and purity. They are also committed to using organic and non-GMO ingredients.
What’s the difference between Grüns and AG1?
AG1 Athletic Greens is a greens powder designed for athletes and those looking to massively increase their nutrient intake, while Grüns makes green gummies geared toward those who want a more convenient way of getting more nutrients. Both brands are greens supplements with stacked ingredient lists and fairly high costs. Due to those drawbacks, I’d recommend Grüns alternatives like Live it Up, Zena Greens, or Bloom Greens.
What is comparable to Grüns gummies?
There are several gummy supplements on the market, but if you're looking for a more affordable, more nutrient-stable supplement with gut support and zero sugar, I recommend greens powders, such as Live it Up Super Greens.
Greens powders have more reliable nutrient potency than gummies. Plus, many greens powders also include probiotics, digestive enzymes, and naturally derived vitamins and minerals from whole foods to help fill nutritional gaps and support whole body vitality.
How do Grüns help you lose weight?
Grüns Gummies are not considered a weight-loss supplement. However, they do contain fiber, which can help you feel fuller. If you have weight loss goals, it's crucial to be mindful of their sugar intake from these gummies. That said, some individuals may find that consuming these gummies in conjunction with regular exercise and a balanced diet can support weight management.
