What to expect in your first session with this dietitian?
Welcome! I like for our first session to be an opportunity for us to get to know each other better. I often like to begin our first session by hearing more about your story and what your big picture goals look like. During this session I will complete an initial assessment by asking additional details about your past medical history, your current lifestyle, and your current nutritional and exercise habits. This will help lay the foundation of your personalized care plan. Over our next few appointments I like to explore further with you your individual goals both short term and long term. Together we will develop practical, sustainable, and realistic strategies to start achieving these goals. Along the way there is always bound to be be some bumps in the road. But don't worry we will brainstorm together to remove any barriers and challenges that pop up as we successfully move towards accomplishing your wellness goals. During our sessions and also in between appointments I am available to provide you with nutritional education, tips, and tricks, and to answer any questions you may have to help empower you on your journey. I very much look forward to working with you.
Approach to care
I am a natural foods chef and Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with over 18 years of culinary experience. I have a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition/Dietetics from the University of New Mexico and Certificate of Training in Adult Weight Management Program by the Commission of Dietetic Registration. My specialty includes working with clients looking to manage their weight and prevent and manage chronic disease such as diabetes. I also love working with clients interested in improving their overall health and culinary skills, as I believe cooking doesn't have to be complicated. It can be efficient, convenient, nutritious, taste delicious and still help us all support our health goals!
I am defiantly an extrovert and love being active with my dogs, friends and family. My favorite hobbies include skiing, golfing, hiking, dancing, and hot yoga. I am passionate about travel, cooking/food, reading, music, and geology. Some fun facts about me, so far I have visited 23 countries and 24 states. As a chef I have cooked privately for some famous patrons including Jackie Chan and Yo-Yo Ma. I have been to Coachella 9 times. Last year I read 49 books, and I used to dance Flamenco semi-professionally. I am a huge animal lover I have 3 rescue dogs that along with my husband are the loves of my life. Some goals I am working on this year include learning French, reading 52 books this year (a book a week), and learning to oil paint.
More About This Dietitian
My goal with clients is to encourage and promote positive, sustainable, and realistic lifestyle and behavior change through self-discovery and education. I believe that the journey to wellness is unique for each individual, and as a result, my counseling approach is customized around you - your health goals, challenges, and wellness aspirations. I do not believe in fad diets, a one-meal-plan-fits-all approach, or starvation calorie plans. Instead you can expect our counseling sessions to be a space to be heard and respected, and a space for brainstorming, learning, goal setting, celebrating achievements, exploring barriers, and finding inspiration.

From the start, Natalie has been a blessing. Her knowledge, insights, strategies, and support have empowered me and I now have a much healthier relationship with food.
