About
I am a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with over 10 years of counseling experience. For me, becoming a dietitian was about having the privilege to teach others about something they need every day (nutrition) and knowing any little or big amount of information they took away can make a positive change to better themselves in many aspects of life. I think, personally, as a full-time working mom, I can relate to many individuals who think they may not have the time to improve their health through diet and exercise. However, it is possible as long as they can work with me and lean into the education and motivations behind our work together. My expertise lies in working with clients in the areas of weight management, clients looking to improve their overall wellness, and the management of diabetes and heart disease.

My coaching style

I work with clients by guiding them to a positive relationship with food to help achieve their health and lifestyle goals. While working with me we will discover your "why" reasons for specific behaviors, especially around food. I practice nutrition by focusing on setting small goals at a time leading to long lasting and sustainable changes. My goal is to set a safe and confident space for my clients.

Let's not use the terms good or bad foods, but rather think about a healthy eating pattern as everything in moderation. Let's take what you want or like and add in what you need. It’s not about having the time. Its about making the time.

Positive: In a short period of working with Kayla, not only have I started to understand what 'diet' will be helpful for my kidney health, but her holistic approach of teaching the impact of stress, behaviors and everything beyond food has allowed me to feel more empowered to take back my health

Working with Kayla has boosted not only my confidence in my ability to lower my A1C but also my determination to do it. Kayla is very supportive and has provided me with such great information so that I can make better food choices. She keeps me grounded when I feel like I'm not making any progress. She provides the reality checks that I need because I can be too hard on myself. I look forward to my sessions with her because I know I'll be affirmed and supported in this journey to a new, healthier lifestyle.
